Since I was a little girl, I had loved Aiden Walters. We had grown up next to one another in a Wisconsin tiny town. He and I both had a thorough understanding of one another. I was there when his career took off, and I thought there was a good chance I would always be in his life.
I wasn’t forced to break up with Aiden until a scandal surfaced. It wasn’t warmly received by him. The boy I used to love turned on me. He left everything behind and headed to California.
I had to keep reminding myself every day of why I ended things with him in the first place, especially now that he was back in town and constantly in contact with me. If not, I might find myself falling in love with him once more. Only this time, I was positive that he wouldn’t want to catch me if I fell.
