This constitutional text sets out the foundational legal and institutional framework of the Republic of Rwanda. It establishes the principles on which the State is organised, defines the structure and powers of public institutions, and sets rules concerning citizenship, national sovereignty, fundamental rights and freedoms, elections, the Executive, Parliament, the judiciary and other constitutional bodies. This edition incorporates the 2023 revision of the Constitution originally adopted in 2003 and previously revised in 2015.
