South Africa's Companies Act 71 of 2008

The Companies Act 71 of 2008 provides the legal framework for the incorporation, registration, organization and management of companies in South Africa. It regulates relationships between companies, shareholders, members and directors, and covers company records, financial reporting, mergers and takeovers, business rescue and the rights of investors and third parties. It also establishes institutions including the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission, Companies Tribunal and Takeover Regulation Panel and provides rules for different types of companies.
