The South African National Petroleum Company Bill, 2026 provides for the establishment of the South African National Petroleum Company (SANPC) and sets out its objects, functions and governance arrangements. It provides for the appointment and composition of the Board and executive management, the company's finances, and the appointment of its Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and staff. It also provides for the consolidation and transfer of assets, rights and obligations from the South African Gas Development Company (iGas), Strategic Fuel Fund (SFF) and Petroleum Oil and Gas Corporation of South Africa (PetroSA) to the new company, together with transitional arrangements and related matters.
