Rwanda Law No. 072/2024 of 26 June 2024 on Mining and Quarry Operations

This law establishes the legal framework for mining and quarry operations in Rwanda. It sets out general principles for the sector, addresses the rights of landowners in licensed areas, provides for the identification of potential mining areas and establishes a committee connected with mining governance. It also contains detailed rules on licences for mining operations and replaces the earlier 2018 law on mining and quarry operations.
