Southern African Development Community (SADC)
The SADC Protocol on the Control of Firearms, Ammunition and Other Related Materials establishes a regional framework for preventing and combating the illicit manufacturing, trafficking, possession and use of firearms, ammunition and related materials. It provides for cooperation, harmonisation of national laws and policies, information sharing, marking and tracing, record keeping, law-enforcement cooperation and measures to address illicit firearms.
