The SADC Protocol on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters establishes procedures for cooperation between Member States in investigations, prosecutions and criminal proceedings. It provides for assistance such as obtaining evidence, taking statements, serving documents, executing searches and seizures, transferring persons to give evidence and other forms of legal assistance in criminal matters.
