The Guidelines on the Implementation of the Freedom of Information Act, 2011, Revised Edition, 2013 provide guidance on how public institutions are to apply the Freedom of Information Act. They address requests for information, disclosure and refusal of access, exemptions and the consideration of public interest. The guidelines also cover matters relating to personal and third-party information, official records, professional privileges, law enforcement and other protected information. They provide further guidance on record keeping, proactive disclosure and reporting by public institutions.
