National Policy on Internally Displaced Persons, 2021

Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development

Issued by the Federal Government of Nigeria, the policy provides a framework for preventing displacement, protecting internally displaced persons and supporting durable solutions through return, local integration or resettlement. It sets out the rights and responsibilities of IDPs, the obligations of government institutions and coordination mechanisms for humanitarian assistance and long-term recovery.
