National Employment Policy 2017
Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Federal Republic of Nigeria
The National Employment Policy 2017 provides Nigeria's framework for promoting full, productive and freely chosen employment. It was developed to address unemployment and underemployment and sets out national approaches for employment generation, sustainable livelihoods, employment-related institutions, and coordination of employment initiatives. The policy was reviewed because the earlier 2002 policy had become outdated in response to changes in Nigeria's labour market and wider economic environment.
