Mine Health and Safety Amendment Bill (B10-2026)

The Mine Health and Safety Amendment Bill, 2026 proposes amendments to the Mine Health and Safety Act, 1996. It seeks to streamline administrative processes, remove obsolete provisions, strengthen the responsibility and accountability of employers and managers, reconstitute the Mine Health and Safety Council, dissolve the Inspectorate as a juristic person, strengthen enforcement provisions and increase penalties. It also proposes amendments and additions to certain definitions and related provisions.
