Legal Deposit Act 54 of 1997

The Legal Deposit Act provides for the preservation of South Africa's documentary heritage through the legal deposit of published documents. It establishes arrangements for preserving, cataloguing and providing access to publications produced in or adapted for South Africa, including government information, and establishes a Legal Deposit Committee to coordinate the system.
