The Land Redistribution for Agricultural Development policy provides the framework for the LRAD sub-programme, which was designed to help eligible South African citizens gain access to agricultural land and improve the productive use of land. It sets out the programme's objectives, principles, beneficiary requirements, grant structure, implementation arrangements and monitoring provisions. The policy also addresses participation by women and young people and the use of land for different forms of agricultural production
