The Global Minimum Tax Act 46 of 2024 introduces the Global Anti-Base Erosion (GloBE) Rules into South African law. It establishes a framework for applying a global minimum tax to large multinational enterprises and provides for the imposition of Top-up Tax where required. The Act forms part of international efforts to address base erosion and profit shifting and to ensure that multinational groups pay a minimum level of tax across jurisdictions.
