Constitution of the Rwandese Republic of 24 November 1962

This Constitution established the constitutional framework of the Rwandese Republic after independence. It provided for a republican form of government and set out constitutional rules concerning the State, citizenship and the rights and duties of citizens. The text also addressed the organisation and powers of public institutions, including the President, Government, National Assembly and courts, and established constitutional principles governing the exercise of public authority.
