The Agreement Establishing the African Continental Free Trade Area provides the legal framework for creating a single continental market for goods and services among participating African states. It addresses areas including trade in goods, trade in services, dispute settlement and institutional arrangements for implementing the agreement. Nigeria signed the agreement in 2019 and deposited its instrument of ratification in December 2020
